Our Story

My name is Sharon and I am the owner and designer of our wonderful range of eco-friendly products.
Being a mother of a feisty youngster, I am very aware of the pressures and expectations put upon parents from society as well as the (usually higher) expectations we place on ourselves. Raising kids is hard. Very hard. We all need a hand from time to time and that is fine. As the saying goes, it takes a community to raise a child. I truly believe this, which I why I started Emondo Kids. Mealtimes with my fussy eater were stressful and downright hazardous. Beans in the eye anyone?! I was sick of spending too much time in the kitchen preparing visually appetising, delicious, and healthy meals, for them to only end up on the floor, or in my hair.  Our dog was eating better than we were!

Light Bulb Moment.

Instead of trying to replicate Picasso on a boring plastic toddler plate, why not have the plate do the work…and I take all the credit. Mum of the year. So, I went about designing a range of dinnerware that not only brought joy and a sense of imagination to children but also helped us parents take back control of mealtimes. And also good for the environment. August 2016, Emondo Kids was born.

Emondo kids the name, is a play on words meaning Ellory’s World. I originally had an Instagram account for our daughter called ‘Ellory’s World’. I took the ‘E’ from her name and added it to Mondo, which is Italian for world. E-Mondo Kids.

Me:
Born and raised in Italy, I moved to London at the age of 18 where I studied fine art. Some years later I got the travel bug and decided to go back packing around South East Asia and Australia, where I met my now husband. After spending a few more years travelling together we ended up settling back in Australia in 2011 on the Sunshine Coast. I love the water and the beach. It rejuvenates my soul and helps me stay on an even keel (nautical pun intended) when times get tough. I couldn’t imagine anywhere else I would want to raise my family. Food is a passion of mine…..obviously, I’m Italian! So starting a business in this field, whilst tough, felt like a perfect progression for me. I love the day to day challenges that arise from being a small business owner and take great pleasure in knowing that what I am doing is providing help for many families out there.

Thanks so much for stopping by ! Sharon xxx
